Friday 10/5/13: Arrival of Spanish group. Short
walk downtown, students
with
the families, teachers light dinner and settle down at the hotel
Saturday 11/5/13: visit to Achilion palace, where empress
Sissie spent some years, walk
in the gardens, where there is a statue of
dying Achilles.
Walk
to the new and the old fortress
Dinner in town
Sunday 12/5 /13:
Visit to Kanoni area and then to the small monastery of
Vlacherna. By boat to
Pontikonisi islet.
Lunch.
Walk around the historical centre, visit to Saint
Spyridon
church.
Arrival
of Turkish team.
Monday 13/5/13: trip to the north of the island. Visit
to folklore museum of
Acharavi.
Visit to an olive mill.
Visit to Paleokastritsa and
the monastery there. Lunch.
Visit to
koumkouat (local fruit) factory.
Students at
families, teachers dinner together.
Tuesday 14/5/13:
visit to school, welcome.
Refreshments.
All
students together plant an olive tree at the school yard.
Watching a
video about Corfu and its ancient history.
Walk to the “Mon Repos” palace
little forest, visit to the
Lunch at
Garitsa bay, with typical Greek souvlaki.
Installation “Wishes” in front
of the Museum of Arts of East.
Light
dinner by the sea, at Faliraki.
Wednesday 15/5/13:
Trip to the south of the island. Visit the Environmental Centre
of Lefkimi and
attend their programme about the olive tree.
There
students make their own presentations about the agreed
topics
(presentation of their country and school and olive tree in
arts
and traditions in their culture).
Lunch
there.
Afternoon: students at families, teachers meet at school to discuss
about
following steps of the project.
Greek
night at “Trypas” restaurant with Greek food and dances.
Thursday 16/5/13:
departure of Spanish team.
The
rest, visit to Kanoni area and then to the small monastery of
Vlacherna. By boat to
Pontikonisi islet.
Lunch. Walk around the historical centre,
visit to Saint
Spyridon church and a traditional soap workhop.
Lunch.
Walk
to the old fortress
Light dinner in town
Friday 17/5/13:
departure of Turkish team.
